Requirements: Grade 12 plus National Diploma (NQF level 06) or 4-year Degree (NQF Level 07) in Information Communication Technology, Information Technology, Computer Science or Informatics and A+, N+ certificates recommended. 1-2 years experience in ICT Desktop Support. Must have a valid driver’s license. COMPETENCIES: Knowledge of the Microsoft environment including Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft 365.

Duties: Provide 1st Line and 2nd Line desktop support. Set up and configure PCs, laptops, printers, and other ICT equipment. Respond to user problem requests and perform technical support of transversal applications. Diagnose, solve, document, and report a wide range of problems (hardware and software including Microsoft 365 Applications). Keep a record of maintenance activities and system performance. Provide ICT Support to GDARD Regional offices and Nature Reserves. Ensure maintenance of PCs, laptops, printers, and other ICT equipment. Ensure repairs of PCs, laptops, printers, and other ICT equipment. Check hardware warranties and liaise with equipment manufacturers. Perform ICT Equipment Health Checks. Ensure functionality of power points for desktops or ICT equipment. Resolve technical problems relating to desktop computing equipment. Ensure that power points for desktops are prepared/ functional for connectivity. Document and keep a record of all allocated ICT Equipment. Attend ICT directorate and Sub directorate meetings. Prepare and submit weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to the supervisor. Prepare submissions for training needs etc. Prepare and submit Asset Movement forms for all the allocated ICT Equipment to Assets Management.
