CHAIRPERSON OF AUDIT COMMITTEE

(Three (3) Year Contract)
SALARY: Remuneration will be paid in accordance with the Treasury Regulations 20.2.2.
CENTRE: National Head Office, Pretoria

REQUIREMENTS: An NQF stage eight qualification in any of the following fields: Accounting, Auditing, Risk Management, Information and Communication Technology. Five (5) years trip as a member of an Audit Committee in the public sector. Additional 5 (5) years trip as an Audit Committee Chairperson. In-depth expertise of the PFMA and its rules as well as different governing prescripts relevant to the department. Membership of a Public Sector Audit Committee will be a delivered advantage. A legitimate and unendorsed code eight driver’s license. Competencies And Attributes: Integrity, reliability, suitable communication, interpersonal and management skills. Exhibit an independence of thinking in deliberations and be proactive in advising the Accounting Officer. Professional strategy to duties, which includes dedication of time and effort. Ability to motivate openness and transparency. Ability to work constructively with management. Prospective candidates need to possess the following: Broad business, company governance, and/or monetary administration experience. Public region experience. An
understanding of the enterprise in which the company operates. Familiarity with threat administration practices. An appreciation of inner controls. A perception of fundamental accounting practices and public area reporting formats. Familiarity with legislative requirements. Understanding of the roles of inner and exterior audit Good grasp of the manipulate framework.

DUTIES : Responsibilities: Chair audit committee meetings. Advise the Accounting Officer and Management on audit-related and governance matters. Independent consultant on things pertaining to, inter alia, inner audit, external audit, accounting policies, and economic and non-financial information. Effective governance and compliance with relevant regulations and prescripts. Evaluate the adequacy of the organisation’s manipulated environment. Attend conferences as frequently as required however at least 5 (5) instances a year and be bendy with time. Perform obligations in accordance with the Audit Committee Charter.
